Premeditated Business Networking

Because…success doesn’t just happen.

Can you tell a “professional visitor” from “someone who really wants to get business done?”

Have you ever met someone, had a brief discussion, then afterwards wondered . . .

  • · What was her/his name again?
  • · What did he/she say she did?
  • · Why would I care?
  • · Did he/she want something?

There are those that dive into a well-rehearsed elevator a runaway train, full speed ahead without regard or understanding of where they are going.

Some people believe in the “throw enough crap at the wall something will stick” approach to selling. But when you are selling yourself, what you do or how you get it done, this method can just leave a real mess to clean up later.

Many business professionals look for business in an Apple Orchard when they should be in the Orange Grove. Would you know if you were in the right place?

Dale Watson first heard of Hernando's Hide-A-Way through Johnny Burnette's 1956 song "Rockabilly Boogie." He bought the property, at 3210 Hernando Road, for $110,000 in June 2018. "I have a history of buying old honky tonks in Texas," Watson said, "just to make sure they don't close down. … And, knowing the history…

Fred Smith challenges NYT publisher to public debate after Sunday tax story
In a front-page story Sunday, The New York Times reported that FedEx reduced its federal tax bill to zero in 2018 following the Trump tax cuts. The year before, the company had paid $1.5 billion, the Times said, but hadn't reinvested its savings into capital spending to the degree FedEx Corp. and its CEO, chairman, and founder Fred Smith said it would when lobbying for the tax cut. A March Business Journal analysis of income-tax expenses for roughly 1,300 publicly traded companies found the group…
