Premeditated Business Networking

Because…success doesn’t just happen.

Can you tell a “professional visitor” from “someone who really wants to get business done?”

Have you ever met someone, had a brief discussion, then afterwards wondered . . .

  • · What was her/his name again?
  • · What did he/she say she did?
  • · Why would I care?
  • · Did he/she want something?

There are those that dive into a well-rehearsed elevator a runaway train, full speed ahead without regard or understanding of where they are going.

Some people believe in the “throw enough crap at the wall something will stick” approach to selling. But when you are selling yourself, what you do or how you get it done, this method can just leave a real mess to clean up later.

Many business professionals look for business in an Apple Orchard when they should be in the Orange Grove. Would you know if you were in the right place?

Nashville bankers prepare for eventual rise in interest rates
Interest rates are due to rise. Two questions remain: when and by how much? The Federal Reserve this week ended the fourth round of its unprecedented bond buying programs, having pumped trillions of dollars into the economy and slashing interest rates to rock bottom in an attempt to bolster the economy since the recession. The Fed's policy committee says it's committed to keeping interest rates low for a "considerable time." Forecasts among economists surveyed by Bloomberg anticipate a rate increase…

Nashville West developers pursue huge Antioch project
A Nashville development duo is pursuing a 300-acre site for a massive project involving retail, office space, condos and apartments — in Antioch, about 15 miles southeast of downtown. It's really an act of defiance, when you consider Antioch's prevailing perception among major retailers as a dead market. They need only point to how activity at the old Hickory Hollow Mall has withered to nearly nothing. In fact, it wasn't until after Target closed its Antioch store that Bill Oldacre and Mark McDonald…
