Congress provides highway funds just in time, but it's a short-term fix
Federal funding for highway projects will continue to flow after the Senate accepted the House’s version of an $11 billion bill to replenish the Highway Trust Fund through May 2015. The Senate passed the House bill on an 81-13 vote Thursday night. Hilton boosts forecast
McLean-based Hilton Worldwide Holdings saw profits rise 35 percent last quarter on higher occupancy and rates and it boosted its full-year forecast. Hilton had second quarter revenue of $2.7 billion, compared with $2.4 billion a year ago. Net income was $209 million, or 21 cents per share, compared to $155 million, or 17 cents per share.
