Northern Oil's Reger named one of most powerful young CEOs Michael Reger, the 35-year-old CEO of Northern Oil & Gas, was named by Forbes magazine as one of "America's Most Powerful CEOs 40 and Under."
Forbes ranked Reger as No. 13 on the list, which was led by Larry Page of Google and Andrew Mason of Groupon.
Reger co-founded Wayzata-based Northern (AMEX: NOG) in 2006 and took over as CEO and chairman of the board in March 2007. He has bachelor's and MBA degrees from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

The company's revenue rose about 3 percent to $46.1 billion for the year ended Dec. 31, compared with revenue of $45 billion in 2010.
Adjusted claims —which include home delivery, specialty and other claims — of 751.5 million for 2011 were down slightly from 2010. Cash flow from operations of $2.2 billion in 2011, including merger-related costs, was up 4 percent from 2010.

Announced Wednesday, the five are competing for three spots to oversee the program, which seeks to replace the current state-run operation with a private “managed care” model.
The five are WellCare of Kansas, based in Tampa, Fla.; Sunflower State Health Plan, based in Topeka; United Health Care, based in Minneapolis; Coventry Health Care of Kansas, based in Wichita; and Amerigroup, based in Virginia Beach...

Benioff, who last year hosted Obama for a $35,800 a plate fundraiser at his San Francisco home, was the only technology company CEO to take one of the posts. Also on the list was California Attorney General and former San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris.
Wed, 22 Feb 2012 23:21:05 +0000 Clergy stage Ash Wednesday protest against Wells Fargo Wells Fargo & Co. was hit with an Ash Wednesday protest from clergy demanding that the bank write down principals on underwater mortgages.
The clergy, which represented several Christian denominations, occurred at Wells Fargo's San Francisco headquarters.
The protesters also called on the bank to freeze all mortgages pending an investigation after a San Francisco audit found just about all of 400 foreclosures studied in the city were done under questionable, if not illegal, circumstances.
